"Feeling so much more positive"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Rheumatology

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a few years ago. I recently had a flare which was worse than I'd experienced in some time. I phoned the rheumatology clinic at North Devon District Hospital and they called back within an hour. I attended for bloods the next morning and they phoned with the results within a couple of hours and were luckily able to fit me in with the rheumatology nurse later that day.

We had a really good discussion about my issues and later on she called again to confirm she'd discussed things with my consultant and I could commence an increased dose immediately. I felt I had been taken seriously and, had a clear treatment plan and psychologically I felt better as my anxiety was relieved. I have now started on my new plan and after a week I am feeling so much more positive.  10/10 to the rheumatology team at NDDH!

It is really encouraging to hear that you had such a positive experience within our team. We always try to get back to patients as soon as we can with results or treatment plans as we know how important it is for patients to hear from us when they are experiencing a flare.
