I was admitted having had chest pains on train and thought it was heart burn but it didn’t go away and got worse.
I was on my way to north of Scotland and had to get off train at York. Train station staff called for ambulance. Lovely paramedics took me in even though ECG didn’t indicate a heart attack but blood test at hospital did.
Miles away from home and travelling on my own, it was very stressful to be told I’d had a heart attack but from start to finish the care I received from all the staff was amazing. I stayed in CCU unit overnight and was taken downstairs for an angiogram in the morning and a stent was fitted successfully. I felt so much better afterwards and was discharged the following day.
Thank you to all. I will never forget you. I wish I had all your names to mention but special mention to Laura, staff nurse who spent a lot of her time with me on my last day there answering all my questions and giving me some food from the cafe to take on long journey home to Kent.
