"Blood being taken at Royal Hallamshire Hospital"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Clinical haematology

(as a service user),

In general I had a good stay at the Hallamshire, and the consultants were good at explaining things and helping me out.

On the other hand, I felt the support staff behaved awfully. I felt the admissions staff talked down to me and spoke about me like I was object, not a human. I felt the member of staff who took my blood was rude, grabbed my arm roughly, and again treated me in a dehumanizing way. These parts of the experience were frankly awful, and displayed a complete lack of empathy, and showed staff that didn't really care at all about their jobs or patients.
