I was diagnosed with a 9 and a half cm ovarian cyst earlier this year.
I saw a consultant recently, as my appointment was cancelled due to a strike, and put on the surgery waiting list.
Finally had my op, where they found a 10 cm simple cyst and a 4 cm dermoid cyst. My ovary and fallopian tube had to be removed, too. All done keyhole so 4 small incisions. Surgeon also discovered I have endometriosis attached to my bladder which had to be left alone.
Very grateful to my surgeon, Mr Flood. It's been a long wait to get it removed and been an uncomfortable few months so glad it's finally done. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Was a bit nervous but they were all great at reassuring me and putting me at ease.
