"Follow up call"

About: University Hospital Ayr / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I had a phone call as follow up from a lovey member of staff, I was offered surgery on my bowel but I decided to turn down the surgery as felt it too invasive. I would have liked the opportunity to have more scans to check if the tumour is growing or getting worse, but I was told they dont do that as routine so I've been offered pain management and to let them know if I have any changes at all.

The call I got however, was good and she asked how I was coping, she was very pleasant, so thank you.

Dear Clydesdale Workhorse

Thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback on your recent healthcare experience with us via Care opinion.

I am sorry to hear that you have a tumour, and appreciate that you feel surgery is not the route you would like to take. It’s a difficult decision to make, and I am pleased to hear that you have been offered pain management should you require it.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and I know the surgical Team will be pleased to hear that the call you received was good and that the member of staff you spoke with was pleasant and supportive.

Please accept my best wishes and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

kind regards

Pamela
