About: University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency University Hospital Ayr / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as a carer),

Our 90 year old mother took really unwell at home at the end of October and an ambulance was call Carrie & Claire came within minutes and dealt with our mum with care and compassion.

She was blue lighted up to Ayr Hospital where she was seen immediately in A & E and place into resus Charge Nurse Sharon and her staff were wonderful with her, after an overnight stay in resus she was transferred to Orange Zone CAU and once again was treated with great care and compassion. She was then transferred to St 1 and once again relieved great care and attention.

My mother had never been hospitalised before and she can't stop singing the praises of all involved in her care , my sister's and I would just like to express our gratitude to all involved in her care. I work with in the health care setting and I am so proud of everyone involved from porters, cleaners, care assistants, nurses and Doctors.

Thank you very much to all so Proud of Ayr Hospital.

Good Morning,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind words regarding your mums recent journey through University Hospital Ayr. I was delighted to hear that your mum felt her whole experience was a good one and that her care and attention was satisfactory. I was also amazed to hear that mum is 90 years old and never been in hospital as an in-patient what an achievement!!! I would certainly like to know her secret to how she has managed that, well done to her. Once again thank you for taking the time to feed back and I will pass this onto our staff. I wish mum a speedy recovery.

Kind regards, Gordon Elliott, Clinical Lead, CAU.
