"Amazing service NHS Fife."

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) St Andrews Community Hospital / Urgent Care Centre

(as the patient),

I wakened this morning with a rash, which I suspected may be shingles after suffering pain for 2 days. I phoned 111 at 0730. Got a callback within a short time with an appointment at St. Andrews community hospital urgent care. I was see by a lovely Dr and shingles confirmed, and had my antiviral tablets by 1045.

Amazing service.

Hi Grateful@patient

I'm sorry to learn of your shingles diagnosis. I know this can be painful and I hope the antiviral medication assists and you feel better soon.

Thank you so much for sharing your impressive journey of care on Care Opinion. To have called 111, be referred to NHS Fife and seen face to face in just over three hours is fantastic. Well done to the staff involved and great teamwork between Health Boards.

I plan to share your story more widely within NHS 24 as I am keen to share your positive experience with as many staff as possible. Our staff don't often get to hear what happens following a call to 111, therefore as yours is such a great example of joined up person-centred care, I'm sure our staff will be delighted to see your positive comments.

Should you care to provide any additional detail, I can be contacted on 07814 299944 or by email at Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thanks again and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Shona
