"Amazing care of my dad by a student nurse"

About: Victoria Hospital / Surgical High Dependency

(as a carer),

The care that a student nurse gave my dad when he was staying in the surgical high dependency ward at the Victoria Hospital was amazing.

Her enthusiasm was incredible and I felt the care and compassion she gave to him, and keeping a smile on his face, was amazing to see and she should really be proud of the nurse she will be.

I believe she was a student at the university of Dundee and her name was Tiegan and she’s in her last year and just had her placement in the surgical high dependency ward and the VHK.

Dear octansnt54

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback on your Dad's recent hospital experience. It is lovely to hear that the Student Nurse caring for your Dad was kind and compassionate. It is so important that our nurses are kind and compassionate, as we know that really matters to everyone. I am sure this Student Nurse has a very bright future in nursing, it is lovely to hear of your experience, and yes I am very proud of this nurse, she has demonstrated the essence of our role as nurses. It is very assuring that our future nurses are doing so well. I will make sure the Senior Charge Nurse of Surgical High Dependency is aware of your feedback and we will highlight your feedback with the Student Nurse and to the University of Dundee. I am sure she and the University will be equally delighted with this feedback as I am. I do hope your Dad is recovering well after his hospital admission, please pass on my kind regards and well wishes to him. Thank you again, and take care.

Jamie Doyle.
