"Giving birth"

About: Maternity care / Maternity Ward

(as a service user),

I was booked in for an induction after concerns about my blood pressure. My pregnancy had been super smooth up until then. I cannot fault the treatment I got from anyone. The healthcare assistants, student midwives all the way through to the consultant - everyone was phenomenal. It was weird being the one looked after but I felt really supported throughout.

The midwife that explained the induction was really patient and thorough despite having her hands full and made sure I knew what was happening during shift handover. There was a very experienced midwife who installed a lot of confidence in me and made the birth of my son a positive experience.
