About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Day Surgery Unit Royal Alexandra Hospital / Same Day Admissions Unit (SDAU)

(as a carer),

I went in to the Surgical Day Admissions Unit for a tonsilectommy. I was anxious and even had to go for a cry in the toilet. Before I knew it I was taken round to the theatre reception and then into the theatre where the team were absolutely lovely and I laughed my head off and before I knew it I was in the recovery ward.

Every single staff member I encountered was so kind and friendly even made them laugh. Total angels and I am so grateful the toast was delicious as well btw :)

I can fully understand your anxiety prior to attending your surgical procedure. Hospitals can be a daunting place at the best of times so to hear you felt fully supported was very encouraging.
