About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Rehabilitation

(as a carer),

I was dropping off an elderly disabled woman to see her husband who had just had a stroke

However the parking attendants would not let me in to drop her at the door, even though I wasn't looking for a space

An elderly woman couldn't see her ill husband because she couldn't make the walk from the other car parks

Absolutely sickening behaviour from the attendants at car park 3 Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. 

Terrible attitudes to have.

Thank you for getting in touch via Care Opinion.

I have shared your feedback with the Facilities Team at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH).

Firstly, please accept our sincere apologies for your experience when visiting the QEUH and for the upset and distress this has caused. Please pass on my apologies to your companion. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde engage an external contractor, Group Nexus, to manage car parking at our sites as demand for car parking can be challenging, with space often at a premium, particularly at peak times. We have discussed this incident with Group Nexus and they have confirmed this falls well below the level of service they expect from their staff. Group Nexus will discuss this with their staff to establish what has gone wrong on this occasion and what steps need to be taken to avoid any repeat in the future.
