After having a terrible time with the gynaecology department, I had to have further interactions with them. I had a procedure carried out earlier this year with an agreement to come off of a medication I was on a few months after the procedure.
Within one month of coming off of the medication it was clear things were not going well for me so I phoned them back. I spoke to a secretary who was helpful and advised that the usual doctor was on leave so they would pass it on to the on-call doctor. Someone then phoned me back the same day and provided me with the advice of going back onto the medication and a telephone appointment would be made with my usual doctor. I had the telephone appointment and it was agreed I could stay on the medication.
I then put in a prescription for it and I was prescribed what I imagine is the same drug with a different brand name. After one month on this I started to have terrible problems again so I phoned back last week and was advised that my usual doctor was nights and their secretary was also off that day, however they would send all the details over to the secretary.
I heard nothing so phoned back and actually spoke to the secretary this time. I found them fairly unhelpful and advised I needed to phone my GP, even though at my last app with the consultant I was advised just to call if there were any more issues. I then asked if it could be put through to the on-call doctor as that's what happened the last time (and someone called me back with advice and a follow-on appointment was made). However, it seemed they didn't really want to do this either and advised it would be unlikely that someone would call me back that day.
I'm now into the 4th week of having terrible issues and I've still not heard from them. I feel distressed and upset. It's not that surprising though, as all my previous experiences with this department have been appalling.
