"In the very best of hands"

About: Maternity care / 2 West Maternity Maternity care / Delivery suite Maternity care / Maternity Admission/Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

I wish I had written down the name of each and every member of the midwifery team that I encountered during my delivery. I cannot speak highly enough about the care and attention I received.

I was induced at 39 weeks having presented with Pre-Eclampsia. My induction was started by Jade who looked after me so well until her shift ended 2 hours prior to my baby being born, then I taken care of by Rebecca who was accompanied by a 2nd year student midwife called Seren? (spelling) who ended up delivering my baby. They guided me so compassionately through the final stages of my labour and I will never forget the kindness and care they showed me. Seren will make an amazing midwife.

Unfortunately I had a PPH which was handled incredibly by Dr. Kat and the rest of the team. I want to also thank ward Sister, Joan who cared for me so compassionately in recovery during such an incredibly vulnerable time.

It may have just been another day in the office for the wonderful women who helped me bring my first baby into the world but it's a day I will always remember.

The staff in the ward upstairs were amazing also. Special thanks to Emma who really helped me get the hang of breastfeeding. I'm delighted to say I'm on my 3rd week now and it's going great!
I am unable to name everybody, but every single staff member I encountered during my 3 night stay was incredible in their knowledge, kindness and compassion and I will never forget them.
