"The essence of professional practice"

Had to attend for an appointment recently. Initial appointment had to be changed as I had covid. The text message about that earlier appointment and the contact number contained in the text made the process of getting a new appointment so easy. The use use text messaging to remind patients about an upcoming appointment is excellent, well done.

Arrived at the Endoscopy Unit to be welcomed by a lovely, friendly and professional Nurse, Linda.  All the staff were excellent, displaying the essence of professional practice.

The Nurse who carried out the endoscopes was Andrew - a very capable, competent and highly skilled professional practitioner. I had never had an endoscope before and Andrew put me at ease and explained everything to me and the procedure was far less daunting than I had anticipated. 

We hear so much criticism today of our Health Service and I fully understand the strain it is under, but the staff within this unit gave me excellent care and as a former nurse demonstrated all that is good and what  best practice  looks like and feels like to a patient. Well done and a big thank you to all the staff in this unit.
