Anything else?
I submitted this review before but could not see it posted, may be a backlog. I though I should try again. I had an appointment at the Winston Churchill Wing for post operative appointment for fibroids). I was early for the appoint and was seen quite quickly by the consultant running the clinic. I this consultant made me feel as big as an ant. As i walked in a woman was sitting in the far corner of the room. Neither made any attempt to explain to me why another person was present in what was to be a private appointment for such a personal problem. The consultant has an awful dismissive bedside manner. I felt that i was treated like i had no right to a personal appointment, and it was assumed by both the consultant and stranger in the room that is was okay to impose in my personal space to such an extent. I was too embarrassed at the abrasive and dismissive manner in which she (the consultant) spoke to me. I am sure the procedure is to ask the patient if they are comfortable with a stranger sitting in on the appointment. The stranger in the room also saw fit to make comments during my appointment. I felt so small. This is a leading fibroid consultant who I believe has had decades of experience and would be well aware of patients rights. I couldn't get out of there soon enough. To further add to my humiliation, the surgeon said as I opened the door which led into the waiting room "and lose some weight! It will help your situation" I believe that losing some weight will help (I am not obese but I agree that I am overweight) but i felt so embarrassment i almost ran out of there.
