Its a shame the 18 week waiting list rule isn't being applied to this hospital. I was referred for breast reconstruction in may 2011, I had to have rib reconstruction surgery at bri, which happened in april 2012, then it took months to get back into see my surgeon at Frenchay, I had the first step of reconstruction the end of October 2012, my expanders were pretty much finished by feb 2013, I resaw my surgeon in april 2013 to get me back on the list to have the expanders replaced for proper implants, its now September and ive been told I may have to wait until the new year when I was originally told it would be about now! I understand there are more urgent cases but this is a very simple procedure to carry out now and id like my life back.
