"My left hip replacement."

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / National Treatment Centre

(as the patient),

I've lived with polymyalgia, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis for over 3 years and was informed that a hip replacement operation would be impossible because of these conditions. My daughter thought otherwise and found a surgeon, Mr Raz, who said differently.

The outcome is I'm now almost 7 weeks post op and my life is totally transformed. My mobility is 100 percent better and pain-free. This is all down to the team at Forth Valley hospital who done all that was necessary to, without overstating, give me back some independence in my life.

In no particular order I give my thanks to Mr. Raz and his theatre team, the staff on recovery room 6, the physios who prepared me for going home and the Arthroplasty Service for the  pre op  and post op advice provided by Lorraine.

Dear Calabar Col

Thank you for providing feedback, I am delighted to see you had a positive experience during your recent admission to Day Surgery unit when getting your hip replaced and getting your independence back.

I will pass on your lovely comments to everyone you have mentioned above.

Wishing you a speedy recovery

Kind regards
