"Private means private"

(as the patient),

I sent an email asking to see a specific staff member as they know what I have gone through and believed they could help me. I asked for the email to be kept private, but have been informed that it has been seen by multiple doctors and another member of staff. I am not impressed by this. Private means private. I now feel worse for asking for help.

Dear warmjb67,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I was sorry to hear of your concerns. I would seek to reassure you that confidentiality is important to us as a department and as a wider Board. There are occasions where we need to discuss someone's care with someone other than their specific therapist and this may be what happened in your case. However, I am unable to say with certainty that is what happened in your case without more detail.
