From day one I could not have had better care. The care, right from the beginning to the day I left was so professional and so well done!

I was taken first to see pre-assessment nurse and she was brilliant with her explanations. Then the stoma nurse was very good and she was very jovial, which I liked and then I was taken to the ward. The ward care was absolutely brilliant they were jovial and they’d do anything for you. I couldn’t make that or this service any better.

On the morning of the operation I was taken to the anaesthetist and he was very good and put me at ease straight away and again, he was also jovial which I really liked. The craic was so good. If it wasn’t for the reason I was there I would back again! Even meeting the staff in theatre. Everyone was so accommodating. Everyone is so brilliant and professional at their jobs. I never once felt any fear. They took my mind off it. Waking up in recovery, the nurse there was brilliant and stayed with me the whole time.

The aftercare was brilliant the whole time. They even reminded me to check my morphine drip for pain management.

During my stay, I also noticed how responsive and reactive they were to the crash alarm—everyone was so professional and really doing the best they can-it shows they want to be there.

The staff really don’t get minute and they are doing this day in and day out-they really are so dedicated and I cannot praise them enough. They deserve every bit of praise.

The staff all work very hard to ensure that all our patients have a positive experience on their surgical journey and I am extremely proud of them.
