"You are all wonderful and worth your weight in gold."

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Dept of Scheduled Admissions Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Ear, Nose & Throat / Audiology Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Theatres

(as a service user),

I had a total thyroidectomy 4 weeks ago under the care of Mr Shakeel. From the minute I stepped into Department Of Scheduled Admissions (DOSA) I cannot fault the staff.

Being a nurse and knowing the pressures everyone is under, everyone I met was kind, hardworking and so thoughtful knowing I was on the other side of my comfort zone.

To the nurse who held my hand in theatre to the nurse in ENT who took out my venflon and everyone in between (especially Mr Shakeel), you are all wonderful and worth your weight in gold.

Thankyou KS27 for your valuable feedback for our DOSA/POAC and ENT theatre teams. We are very proud of the person centred and specialist perioperative practitioner service they deliver on a daily basis in an exemplary way.

I’m pleased to hear your surgery went well and I wish you a speedy recovery.

All the best

Vanessa Smith
