I was referred to Dermatology at Stirling Community hospital by my GP and their diagnosis was suspected basal cell carcinoma. That required a biopsy to be taken.
Staff nurse David and colleague Vicki were friendly and reassuring. They explained the procedure which involved a local anaesthetic. Part of the skin on my cheek was taken so that the diagnosis could be confirmed in the lab.
I was in and out within an hour, and am I glad that I had the procedure which will remove the problem area. I was put at ease by David and Vicki, and was given the information I would need to prevent any adverse reaction to surgery.
I am very grateful to them and to the health service for the care and skill provided, and I will thank my GP for referral and for removal of the stitches in 10 days time.
"Friendly and reassuring"
