"My care on the whole was exemplary"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I recently had my gall bladder removed - today all the staff were lovely apart from one person - not sure of their role but when I rang the buzzer their response was - what? I have to say I was rather taken aback.

Two members of staff got my name wrong - one of whom was doing obs - they were mortified and stopped.

A number of staff didn’t check to see how I preferred to be known - it’s written on the door - but they were still lovely.

Working and chatting in my doorway about other patients post operative wasn’t ideal as I was feeling pretty awful.

My care on the whole was exemplary, but I found the domestic staff at breakfast brusque verging on uncaring - it would have been nice to be asked if I wanted my porridge drowned.

On the whole my experience was very positive and the nursing and medical staff were a joy

Dear NixN,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on care opinion following your recent surgery in PRI.

I am sorry that your experience was not wholly positive, and I will certainly share your feedback with team. I would also like to thank you for your kind comments for the nursing and medical staff -which I will also share.

I wish you well in your continued recovery.
