My mum attended DAU due to ongoing serious health concerns and a suspected Leukaemia diagnosis.
The care she received on her many visits was absolutely exceptional! After just one visit the staff remembered her and treated her with such dignity and respect. They were clearly under significant pressure every day but still were so empathetic and caring, and always so amenable if mum ever asked for something.
Mum's health deteriorated very quickly and unexpectedly. I would like to especially thank Dr Griffiths for her outstanding care and expertise. She was so thorough, when she was presented with unusual results or presentations from mum she didn't rest until she ran further tests or biopsies. As a family we were put so at ease by her approach and dedication. If it wasn't for Dr Griffiths my mum would still be awaiting a diagnosis as an outpatient, but thanks to her thorough and exceptional care my mum received a diagnosis and has started her treatment. Thank you so much Dr Griffiths for not resting until you got some answers for my mum.
Mum also spent a few days in AAA and again, the care was just exceptional! It was hard to ignore just how busy the staff always were, but this didn't once impact the care they delivered. They were regularly checking on mum and went above and beyond to make sure she was ok.
Thank you both DAU and AAA. You are both such amazing, caring, empathetic departments. As a family offer our sincere, heartfelt gratitude.
"The care was absolutely exceptional"
