This morning my husband and I brought our 4 year old daughter to the Ulster Hospital for a day procedure. Arriving in reception area we were greeted by a lovely volunteer. This gentleman was so welcoming and engaged with our daughter putting us at ease and reassuring our daughter of how well she would be treated today.
This gentleman spoke fondly of his role as a volunteer and advised he comes in early on a Thursday to support families like ourselves with you children attending the Craig ward.
In such terrible weather on a dark and gloomy morning, to meet such a cheerful and welcoming gentleman at 7.30am started a very positive experience for our daughter who had her first experience of hospital today.
A big thank you to this wonderful man in his volunteering role and thank you to SET Ulster Hospital for the care provided to our daughter today.
