My baby was born with a tongue tie and I was informed prior to his birth that this was a likelihood he would have one, as both parents were also born with tongue ties. So therefore I had already done my research on the procedure to have this dealt with if needed.
I had my baby in early October and yes he was born tongue tied. I was planning to breastfeed and I didn't want to be put off. I saw 2 paediatricians and they both confirmed my wee boy would benefit from it being snipped. Thankfully you had a nurse (Joanna) on the clinic the following day to do this minor snip, and I'm so glad she was. I was having problems with my baby latching on and taking his milk from the breast. We ended up being admitted back into hospital due to him loosing too much weight.
We were admitted five days after his birth for 2 nights to see if he would regain weight. Due to his tongue tie, if it hadn't been done when it was, his weight would of been a lot worse and I might of been put off breastfeeding altogether.
I am truly grateful for Jo for performing this minor snip to help my baby be able to now use his tongue properly and helped my breast feeding journey back on track and much more at ease. I noticed a massive difference in his feeding with this procedure being done.
