"Breastfeeding Support"

About: Children’s Services / Health Visiting

(as a service user),

The support I receive at my local breastfeeding support group has been amazing. I went 1st as an antenatal mum and I'm now attending every week as a 2nd time mum with both my toddler and my baby. And the support I have received from other mums and the health visitors that attend it weekly has been invaluable. And definitely have ensured a very successful breastfeeding journey this time around. I go each week and come away having had a hot cup of tea and a chat to another mum facing the same/similar issues equipped with new tips/advice to try from very knowledgeable and professional health visitors. With the added bonus of feeling I've accomplished something by getting out of the house with 2 littles. It's such a lovely group facilitated by the WHSCT health visitor team in Strabane.

Dear Curlywurley42,

Congratulations on birth of your second baby. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback on your experience. I am delighted that you are finding the support from the mums and the health visitors at the breastfeeding group invaluable which has meant you have had a very successful breastfeeding journey and feel you have accomplished something each day you go along.

Thank you for acknowledging the support from the health visitors, they are dedicated to sharing their knowledge and expertise and have been working hard to build up breastfeeding support in the community. Your feedback shows we are achieving this.

I will share your feedback with the health visiting team, it is so encouraging to hear such positive stories. Thank you again, and I wish you and your family well.

Kind regards,

Joyce McKittrick,

Lead Nurse Public Health
