"Compassion and Care."

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Palliative Medicine General Surgery / Ward 32

(as a relative),

Last week our aunt took unwell. She attend Altnagelvin A&E and was taken to resus. She was cared for by a consultant Daniel who showed urgency and dedication to her, was open and honest with our family and his caring nature provided reassurance and comfort during a difficult conversation.

Unfortunately the news wasn't good and the staff nurses Lauren and Daniel in resus and nurse Marie that night shown our aunt and family such compassion, empathy. They did all they Could to make her comfortable.
Thank you to the palliative care nurses Gemma and Laura who guided her care and made recommendations that would make her last journey a comfortable pain free one.
Again we have to praise the team in Ward 32, Amy  and their team and HCA Joanne for the time and exemplary care given to my aunt and family to make her comfortable in her remaining few hours.

We are forever grateful for the care and attention provided to her and our family during a difficult few days.

Thank you for your positive comments towards us as staff in ward 32. We appreciate the acknowledgement especially at a time of grief for you as family.
