I arrived on time for my appointment but it took a while to get my child to the designated area.
I was 100 seconds late in reporting as a result and was told that staff may have left the building as I was the last appointment of the day.
Fortunately, staff were present and my child was immunised.
The possibility of rejection for being 2 minutes late would have been distressing. I removed my child from a private (expensive) nursery for the appointment and also lost 3 hours earnings to attend.
As a result, a repeat appointment would have cost me more than £100.
I am expected to wait if my clinician is running late and do not complain.
Do not treat the parent of a toddler with a punitive approach when running to time but disoriented to where to report (I went to the GP before the appointment- my toddler is slow in the stairs so returning to main reception took a while.
Poor attitude.
