After hearing many mixed reviews about the maternity ward at Colchester hospital, I was very nervous about having my first baby there. After being 13 days late I had to go to Colchester hospital as oppose to Clacton. I was made to feel very welcome at Colchester, the staff were really helpful and friendly and had lots of time for me. The birth experience was very positive, and even though there were some complications with the birth the staff worked so well and fast to do what was best, and my baby was delivered with no implications. I was very pleased I had her at Colchester, and would recommend to others in the future. The midwife was superb, I couldn't have asked for a more helpful friendly midwife, was easy to talk to and very supportive with helping breast feeding techniques once my baby was born. The doctor assisted the birth of my baby, he did such a good job and again was very nice to talk to and kept me calm whilst my baby was taken to be observed and looked after in the care unit. My partner and I still discuss the birth and how well the staff worked and what a nice experience it was made for us. We cannot thankyou enough.
