Western General Hospital Stay
Having been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma cancer in early March 2023 I have had cause to use both the NHS Lothian Royal Infirmary and Western General hospitals on several occasions since the initial diagnosis. On each occasion at the Western General I have received excellent care led by Haematology Consultant Dr Storrar and his team.
My most recent interaction has been with the Western General. I was admitted at the beginning of October with severe vomiting and diarrhoea which was subsequently diagnosed as c difficile. After being assessed in the Cancer Assessment ward I was transferred to Ward 8 in the Haematology department.
The medical and support staff in Ward 8 were there for me day and night when I was at my lowest ebb helping me to get through. The professional, friendly and supportive way they carried out their duties helped me greatly and was a credit to them.
So to close I would like to thank again all those doctors, nurses and support staff on ward 8 of the Haematology Dept for all their help and support during my 8 day stay at the Western General hospital.
"Professional, friendly and supportive"
