"I experienced excruciating testicular, lower abdominal pain"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Ambulatory Care- Surgical Craigavon Area Hospital / Urology Outpatients / Surgical assessment unit

(as the patient),

Experienced excruciating pain recently. Waited one day before visiting the GP, I couldn't be examined properly at the GP because of the pain, was sent to Daisy Hill over suspected testicular torsion, again, could not be fully examined due to pain.

Then sent to Craigavon Area Hospital urology department. They took me up to the ward, and could not fully examine me either, although they did push it a lot and I had a panic attack due to overwhelming feeling of helplessness and pain, and a previous anxiety disorder.

Doctor recommended an exploratory surgery under general anaesthetic, I consented and a few hours later the surgery was completed and it was concluded that no torsion/twist was found so I've been placed on antibiotics for 7 days-twice a day due to an infection in my testicle.

Dear cj124,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on Care Opinion and sharing your personal story. Your journey through the hospital system and management plan was very complex and obviously needed a multiprofessional approach.

Wishing you continued good health.
