(as a service user),

Called 111 on Tuesday evening, was referred to the out of hours service

Out of hours service asked me to come in for a consultation.

Out of house clinician was kind and considerate, gave me interim advice and said I needed to be referred to the surgical assessment unit. 10 minutes later he confirmed an appointment for 9am the next morning 

Attended surgical assessment unit. Excellent care from nurses, registrar and consultant. Surgery was required, and despite it being a strike day, I had the surgery before 5pm and was able to go home that night.
