My doctor referred me to the Occupational Therapist. I had my two knees done, was in no pain and not depressed and felt I coped with all that and then I realised I needed help as I am worried and anxious about falling.
My Occupational Therapist, Jean, came to see me at home and helped provide a seat for my shower and rails to give me additional support when going down steps and this helps knowing they are there for me. I feel my confidence has gone but being provided with the equipment has allowed me to feel I am reducing the risk of falls. I know it's just me and I just keep on trying, but Jean really helped me.
The recommendation by my GP has helped to keep me safe, I feel this is the main thing. I can now access all areas of my house as safe as possible. Jean attended the house and I felt talking with Jean also helped. Jean was lovely and it was to my advantage to have her come and see how I was coping.
Jean did her very best and has steered me down the right path I now just need to take my time and I will get there.
