I was admitted via DOSA recently for debulking surgery for stage 4 ovarian cancer. A very scary time but the staff in that short period of time were so understanding and caring.
A big thank you to the consultant anaesthetist and his trainee, who explained everything thoroughly to me I woke up with no pain or nausea and alert straight away. Amazing!
Thanks also to the theatre staff, who were so good and took my mind off what was happening and were so professional, a well oiled team!
Big thank you to the nurse who held my hand as I got spinal, apologies for squeezing so hard!
To Dr Gurumurthy, her registrar, and team - thank you so much for your skill and knowledge, and to Mr Alkari's HPB team for assisting.
Finally, thank you to the amazing staff in ward 309 for all of their care post operatively, and when I was readmitted with sepsis a week later. A big shout out to SN Morag, who cared for me the day I was admitted with sepsis. You will never know how much you simply helping me get washed and changing my bedding meant to me that day. I am forever grateful x
