"District Nursing Team"

About: District Nursing / Omagh

(as the patient),

I have stage 5 renal failure. I caught covid back in August last year ( 2022) had an anti viral drug given which made me very ill. Result of this were a number of leg wounds/pressure sores. Also diagnosed after various tests with Calcifilaxis. Renal unit handed my wound care over to local district nurses who have been great. Visited me at home twice a week. Have been friendly, caring and very understanding of my health and wounds. Listened to me and respected the pain and discomfort I was in.

The care and service they have given me has been great.

Good afternoon Cass80,

Apologies for the delay in this response. Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words towards our District Nursing Team in Omagh. I am sorry to read that your treatment resulted in you developing leg ulcers and other complications, but it is reassuring to learn that you were able to have your wounds attended to at home and hopefully be able to get some resolve from this. I will certainly pass on your lovely feedback to our Omagh team.

Please don't hesitate to use this Care Opinion forum at any stage as we use this to help build and strengthen our service delivery to you the public.

Thank you again and I hope your condition improves in the near future.

Debbie Campbell,

Community Nursing Services Manager, WHSCT.
