"A stroke and treatment after"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I had a stroke last year, and the treatment I received - from the paramedics responding from the emergency call to today -  I couldn't have wished for better treatment from A&E Ayr Hospital to Crosshouse stroke unit.

I had superb after care from Una,  stroke specialist Nurse, in person or telephone consultation. Via Una I was invited to join a stroke advice and information group, a 7-week session at a meeting room in Ayr.

Here Una was joined with Margo and Audrey. From this my whole outlook was changed with the help and advice from these three knowledgeable and friendly people in their own field with post stroke support along with other people all having had a stroke like myself

Today I was discharged but still with the peace of mind if a problem occurs I can call or email Una. Feeling happy and well, very grateful, honoured to have been so lucky to have received professional care and knowledge given to me.

Dear cubebt65

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your healthcare experience about the support you have received following a stroke last year

I am delighted to hear that you received such professional and knowledgeable care from our staff and yours is a wonderful example of different Teams working together to provide true person centred care.

It will be my pleasure to share your lovely comments with the wider Teams you have mentioned and in particular with Una, Margo and Audrey from the stroke advice and information group. Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and I know everyone will be delighted to know that you felt so well supported by them.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
