About: Sexual Health Services - South Staffordshire (Open Clinic)

(as a service user),

I have ongoing molluscum bumps which the nurses quickly identified and treated with cryo recently. I always feel comfortable with the nurses as they treat me with dignity and respect regarding treatment in intimate areas.

I had to go back for more treatment recently only to discover the Tamworth clinic now only do Tuesdays and they have moved within Sir Robert Peel and don't offer the cryo due to not having liquid nitrogen storage. I had to have an appointment booked the next day for Burton, which is fine if like myself you have transport, but you have to consider not everyone has vehicles or good transport links, and may also be embarrassed telling family they need a lift etc.

Leadership, I urge you to reinstate Thursdays in Tamworth and arrange the facility for liquid nitrogen storage there too. The nurses do a great job, but I think that cutting back on things does the local community of Tamworth a disservice and their effectiveness to help, this is a vital service in the control and prevention on venereal diseases and unwanted pregnancies.

Hi Duality38,

My name is Andrew and I am a Senior Administrator for the Open Clinic and part of my role is to respond to Care Opinion feedback. I would firstly like to thank you for taking the time to submit your honest feedback which does mean a lot to our team and is an important contribution to learning and service improvement.

As a service we are aware that the current location for sexual health in Tamworth is not ideal and we are looking at other options, so I can only apologise for the current location and we are all hoping this is temporary.

I am pleased that the nurses treated you with dignity and respect during your treatment and they will continue to do so wherever we are located. 😊

Kind regards,

Andrew Garratt, Senior Administrator
