"A platinum service"

My husband was discharged from Victoria Hospital after 9 days with sepsis and aspirated pneumonia. 

Unfortunately he came out with pressure sores, one very advanced which was detected by home carers.  

Podiatry was put in place and we knew this would be a long, arduous, complicated journey.

I want to shout out to the Podiatry team Kirkcaldy,  Fife, the fantastic level of care that Wendy, Jackie and Neil have delivered week on week, their attention to detail, customer (and wife) care has been tremendous, going above and beyond, explaining what's happening, what complications can mean, potential outcomes etc.

By being open and transparent, they have made a massive difference to our well being and planning (around work), their attention to detail, genuine care is something that should be role modelled, the standard everyone should be aiming for, shared far and wide, what a team!

As a manager, if I received this feedback would want to shout it from the rooftops, celebrate what a platinum service looks and feels like. I would like to nominate these individuals/team for an award, believe you run these yearly, so I would like to see them in the running please, they are that good. 

A similar story for all the great nurses at Hospital at Home that have delivered an absolute gem of a service, amazing from start to finish. On behalf of my husband and myself want to give a massive shout out to this service who worked hand and glove with Podiatry.

Their care has seen that my husband has went from worst case scenario - amputation - to virtually total healing, which is the best outcome ever. 

So I would also like The hospital at Home team nominated along with  Podiatry at the winning table next year please - amazing service that the entire world should hear about.
