I went for a Colonoscopy at North Devon District Hospital. Reception was very efficient and they were expecting me. I was called in by a male nurse who asked me a number of questions and took my blood pressure and temperature. He explained what was going to happen. I was then taken to the ward and allocated a bed space. and changed into a robe. A female nurse then put a cannula in my vein in my left arm. After a while I was taken to have my Colonoscopy.
The team were very reassuring throughout the Colonoscopy and made me very relaxed and were very professional. After the Colonoscopy I was taken back to the ward and my blood pressure taken. After a little while I was allowed to get dressed and was offered a drink and biscuits. I was debriefed by the female nurse and then my lift home arrived. I would like to add that all the staff in the Endoscopy department were excellent.
