From the moment I contacted the triage team at 3am after discovering my waters broken, I was treated with great care and respect. When I was admitted to the ward for observation, I met the doctors on the ward round who explained my options and gave me time to review them and discuss with my husband.
I was taken down to delivery suite by my midwife Lisa and student midwife Kirsten who were both so professional and made me feel at ease. Getting me settled and on the monitor while chatting away to me and keeping me calm. Answering all my questions along the way. I also wanted to mention the staff that came in to swap over with Lisa for breaks. We ended up chatting nonsense but it meant I wasn't focusing on contractions and was able to keep calm.
Once baby was here and was struggling a bit, help arrived quickly and there was no panicking which again helped me to keep calm. When I had a bleed again there was no sense of panic, just everyone that needed to be there was there. My midwife Gillian was on hand reassuring me.
Overall I want to commend all the staff on their professionalism, care and attention making a very vulnerable and nerve wracking experience so calm
I can't thank them enough in helping to bring my little girl into the world.
