"Without CGL I would be dead. Thank you so much."

About: CGL Birmingham / Central & West Hub

(as a service user),

I have been working with CGL for a couple of months and I went into Park House detox in July. I could not be happier with the service I received from my worker Elise and the staff in Park House - Chris, Georgie, Helen, Courtney + Adil. I feel like I have got my life back, I am taking everything I have learnt from these people one step at a time. Everyone went above and beyond for me.

Without CGL I would be dead. Thank you so much.

I was asked if there is anything that should be changed about CGL, nothing... But a gym would be good in Park House.

Dear sigmabf69

Thank you so much for getting in touch with us.

My name is Lydia and I am part of the team that is responsible for listening and responding to people's feedback. Sorry it has taken a little while for me to get back to you.

I understand how a dependency on substances, when left unsupported, can affect every part of somebody's life, not to mention their physical health and wellbeing. So I am so glad that you were able to access our services, and receive the lifesaving support that you were in need of.

It was really heartwarming to read that you were so happy with the support you have received from Elise and the team at Park House, and that you feel they have gone above and beyond for you.

It is great to hear that they have helped you to learn new things. Being willing to act on the advice and techniques that are shared is key to recovery, and I hope you feel proud of how open and committed you have been to taking this learning on board as you have moved forward.

I have spoken to Cortney, the Services Manager at Park House about your suggestion of a gym. He has informed me that based on yours and other people's feedback, this is something they are planning on adding to Park House. It will take a little bit of time to resource and organise, but they are hoping to have gym equipment in place next year.

I will make sure that your kind words are shared with everyone you mentioned in your feedback, and I am sure they will feel proud of the part they have played in supporting you on your journey.

Thank you again for getting in touch with us about your experiences, and I hope that you grow stronger and stronger in your recovery as each day goes by.

Best wishes for the future,

Lydia
