"Every one of them played a part in helping me get home"

I had a fall that landed me in hospital and I really wasn't able to get up and about after it. A physio referred me to Summerford and said it was the ideal place to get some help to get my independence back.

When I arrived the manager explained the reablement process and how her aim was to get me back home and with some hard work and determination we'd get there, she joked she didn't hold on to people long and she'd soon be waving me out the door, she was right! In a few weeks my walking was so much better and I got my confidence back and I didn't need the horrible gutter frame anymore.

The whole staff team were absolute angels and really kept me going even when my pain was bad and I felt a bit useless they were always there to encourage me and cheer me up. I made some new friends too, other people in the same situation but we cheered each other on.

Without Summerford I'm not sure I would have got back to being able to get about my house and up and down the stairs. I want to thank all of the team there, every one of them played a part in helping me get home and for that I'm really grateful.
