I was referred to the Unit to have a large lipoma removed from the nape of my neck. Even though I arrived 45 minutes prior to my appointment time I was admitted immediately. The lady who processed my paperwork and explained what was going to happen did so in a kindly and pleasant manner which was very reassuring. All of her colleagues treated me in the same exemplary manner. Dr Paul and the Anaesthetist took time to explain and answer any questions and concerns that I had, at all times I felt that I was being treated like an individual and not a case number.
I could see that the other patients were treated in the same professional and considerate manner.
For some people the thought of surgery will, no doubt, be an anxious prospect however the conscientious care exhibited by all of the staff in the Unit will put all of these fears to rest.
I believe the NHS is underfunded and under pressure. How you keep up such an excellent standard under these conditions is beyond belief.
All I can say from me and many, many others is...
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
