I was ill at home for over a week with what I thought was just a cold. Woke up struggling to breathe and was seen at a & e who told me that my oxygen level was very low and they suspected I had the flu and had developed pneumonia. Everything for the next 4 days after that were a bit blurry. Can’t remember much but what I do remember is after being admitted to ward 51 how kind and caring all the staff were. The care I received was amazing. I wasn’t recovering from the pneumonia as quick as I should’ve so was sent for tests while on the ward where it was discovered I had a lung condition. I can’t fault any of the staff on the ward. With being ill for a week before going into hospital I had lost a bit of weight so they ensured I was eating enuf during my stay. There was one of the staff that stood out though - a lovely older woman that would just pop into see me. She would tell me a joke or something about her family to put a smile on my face. Even though all these staff are extremely busy they still found the time to give me care and attention. I spent 10 days in hospital and from the minute I walked through those doors until I left the care I received was amazing. They made sure before I was discharged that I had all my medications needed and knew how to use them and all follow up appointments. Can’t fault any of the care I received. These people are truly earths angels.
