"I cannot thank your wonderful team and the Dr enough."

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

I cannot thank your wonderful team and the dr who assessed me within the department enough. He was so nice, understood my concerns, explained everything he did and why. Gave advice on multiple treatments to help and totally understood me as a person and not just a patient.

I attended A and E at Larbert after a call to nhs24. I came in about 5am in the morning and left about 11:30 am. I knew they were busy and knew I would have to wait but I didn’t mind as I knew at some point I would get treatment. It was very busy and they’re where a lot of people in but we were all seen as quickly as could be.

Knowing that people were seen in order of urgency also helped as I would hate to think I was seen before someone who required more urgent help. I left the department knowing what my expected treatment was, what to do if I didn’t get better and advice on how I could help myself. The dr really put me at ease and he was just an absolute delight and credit to the department. Amazing experience from start to finish and could honestly not fault the nhs, everyone did their utmost for me and I will be forever grateful.

Dear Ks433

Thanks for sharing your experience on Care Opinion. I'm sorry to learn you required to attend A&E at Larbert and I hope you are doing so much better. It's kind of you to provide positive feedback for the staff who cared for you. I'm sure my colleagues within NHS Forth Valley will be delighted with your kind comments. It's great to see you felt treated as a person and not just a patient. This is hugely important. Also fantastic that you left feeling informed and reassured.

I also see you made a call to NHS 24 on 111 and it looks like we felt you required face to face assessment, therefore made the necessary arrangements. Should you care to share any more detail about your actual call to us, then it would be good hear further from you. You can call me on 07814 299944 or email Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thanks again for getting in touch.

Take care meantime.

Shona
