During my pregnancy, we were made aware that our baby had restricted growth. We had regular scans every 2 weeks and were closely monitored.
I then developed preeclampsia at around 30 weeks, eventually it was agreed that it was best to have her sooner rather than later. At 35 weeks pregnant, I gave birth to my daughter via Caesarean section. She weighed 3lb 11oz and was taken straight to ICU in the neonatal unit. She initially was intubated as she was struggling to breathe on her own, but soon she was thriving and just after 3 weeks, she was well enough to go home.
We could not fault the care that was provided to our daughter, as well as the support myself and husband felt by all the staff. The neonatal unit is somewhere no mother wishes their child to be, but it soon became a home from home.
We will be forever grateful to everyone who played a part in getting our baby home.
