About: South West Acute Hospital / Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Children's Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My son has been attending for regular sessions with Paul, Assistant Psychologist in the ASD team over the past number of months to help manage his anxiety.

Paul has been absolutely amazing. He really got to know our son and the things that trigger him. He has given him a safe space to discuss the things that he has been struggling with, and used CBT techniques to help him challenge his thoughts.

We have seen a big change in our son’s ability to regulate his emotions and handle anxiety-provoking situations. Not only this, Paul has been so supportive to us as his parents as well - keeping us updated on progress, checking in with us and sending us lots of really helpful resources.

We had been absolutely desperate before these sessions, not knowing where to turn. We are so thankful for Paul’s input, kindness and support. He has gone above and beyond what is expected and we are so immensely grateful to him.

"We are delighted with this feedback, it is much appreciated and well deserved for Paul, Paul is a valued member of the team and works as an assistant psychologist providing group and one to one support for children who have a diagnosis of autism"
