I was recently discharged from Craigavon Hospital following surgery for Bowel Cancer. As part of my routine follow up my eagle-eyed stoma nurse, Jackie, noticed my main wound needed attention. So between her and her colleague Tanya, they sought advice and a consultation from Gillian, a Tissue Viability Nurse.
I attended Ambulatory Surgery today where the Doctor and nurse Gillian reviewed my wounds, re-dressed them, advised on future treatment for primary care and did blood screening.
What a fantastic service. My anxiety about the wound and the treatment option were simply explained and I was dealt with and on my way in 25 minutes. They were both kind, professional and were excellent communicators.
A great integrated service and my sincere thanks again to the stoma experts for such holistic and professional skills and care and linking me with TVN. I'm very grateful and I wanted to share with others how good these services are and how skilled and kind the staff are. Have no hesitation about using these services. We're very lucky to have them. Thanks again,
"Really fabulous care"
