I recently took ill on return from holiday with similar symptoms that I had experienced in 2020 when I ended up in CCU. My husband called an ambulance which arrived within 15mins,. The crew were so caring and efficient but recognised I needed to get to hospital asap.
On arrival at hospital I was treated with nothing but care, respect and efficiency. I was quickly attended by Dr Rathmanadan ( I hope I have the correct spelling) and was admitted to CCU and from then on the care I received was outstanding.
I have a strange condition which is baffling everyone but at no time have they given up trying to find out what it is. I have had so many tests, kidney dialysis, biopsies but still can’t get a diagnosis. That was in February and I am still undergoing various tests, I haven’t been forgotten and due the speed with which this condition appears I have instructions on my records of how to deal with it should it happen again. This has really given myself and my family a great deal of reassurance.
I was also given a fast track number to use if I ever felt unwell no matter how insignificant it was, I recently had to use it. I felt bad as I know how much pressure the NHS are under but immediately I was reassured I had done the right thing and by the time my son had taken me to DGRI the specialist nurse Audrey had been in touch with Dr Nadeeka and knew exactly what tests were needed.
Every member of staff I have dealt with have been exemplary from consultants to domestics both in CCU and Ward D8. You made a very scary time a lot easier for me and my family. I am still undergoing tests and still do not have a diagnosis but I want to thank you all so much for the care and attention I received. I honestly don’t think I would be alive it if wasn’t for the staff at DGRI. You are all amazing.
"Exceptional care, way above and beyond"
