After suffering a severe tingling sensation in my feet then legs for a short while I decided to inform my doctor in the hope of getting some relief. A blood test revealed that I had a Vitamin B12 deficiency and this was most likely the cause. I was quite concerned to learn that I would have to have a series of six Hydroxocobalamin injections over 2 weeks then a further injection every 8 weeks for the rest of my life.
However, I needn't have worried since I was assigned a very caring nurse called JJ who put my mind totally at rest regarding my position and explained how common a condition this actually is. I have now got over the initial shock and quite look forward to my 8 weekly visit to get my injection from JJ at the Practice here in Glenrothes in Fife. I would also like to say a very big thank you to JJ for her kind, caring and very calm manner in the way she deals with me as even though her injections are virtually painless she keeps apologising in case I feel them. I have all the 8 week due dates marked in my diary for this year and on next year's planner to enable me to advise the surgery when I require my next appointment since their system only allows forward planning for 5 weeks and not 8. Hopefully, that may change one day and I can then make my next 8 week appointment when I am actually there.
Thank you JJ for all your care.
